Bridging Together at TRAPS 2018

Bridging Together at TRAPS 2018

Taking the opportunity to reflect upon the historic past, present, and future of the state parks, Xplor Recreation headed south for the 2018 Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) Institute & Expo, hosted at the Waco Convention Center.

Returning to Waco for the first time since 1999, the TRAPS conference not only paid homage to the many bridges that connect the town with this year’s theme, “Bridge Together”, but also the connections that over 1,400 delegates would form during education sessions. Meanwhile, the Maintenance Rodeo ignited a fierce, yet friendly competition to be crowned state champion, featuring teams from all five regions who showcased their skills in the truck & trailer event, zero-turn mower obstacle course, blower competition, irritation assembly event, and more.

Matching the vibrant energy of the Expo, our Enterprise Team members, Allison Irwin and Garrett Ungaro, united with inspired parks and recreation professionals to enjoy refreshing conversations, laughter, and knowledge sharing. Likewise, members of our Customer Success Team, Tanya Zarin and Nima Jazbi, were thrilled to catch up with our valued clients from the Cities of Frisco, Round Rock, and Georgetown, and take a road trip out to tour some of their facilities!

TRAPS Tv Donation

Keeping up with a Xplor Recreation tradition at tradeshows across North America, we were delighted to invite Taylor Turpin to accept a new 1080p Samsung Smart TV, originally purchased for the event, on behalf of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Waco. As a Development Assistant with the Boys and Girls Clubs, Taylor and her team provide programs that give all youth in the Waco community a safe place to play, learn, and grow to reach their full potential as caring, responsible citizens.

As we continually strive to connect communities with the most innovative technologies, we debuted an exciting chance to win a Google Home and a Google Chromecast at this year’s TRAPS Institute & Expo.  Congratulations to Falyn Westbrook, Recreation Center Supervisor at Lewisville Parks and Recreation, who is our lucky draw winner! We’d like to thank all attendees, exhibitors, and conference organizers, who each played a part in making this event remarkable. We hope to see you all in El Paso next year!
