Charting the Course Forward at ARPA 2016

PerfectMind was proud to be a Silver Sponsor for a second consecutive year at the 2016 Alberta Recreation and Parks Association: Charting the Course conference last week. The course is clearly charted for the ARPA when it comes to integrating active initiatives throughout communities as they wrapped up a successful 3-day conference and workshop series. The over-arching theme of this year's conference was a continuation from last year's A Framework for Recreation in Canada 2015 - Pathways to Wellbeing. Keynotes and initiatives for community engagement strategy in physical activity were presented by subject matter experts.

Tranquil Jasper, Alberta provided an elegant and restorative setting for a weekend of speaking sessions and networking at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. With crystalline Beauvert Lake as a backdrop, our PerfectMind team took in the natural landscape's awe-inspiring beauty. Indoors, attendees kept warm near crackling fireplaces in the lodge's cozy spaces framed by wood and other creature comforts.

Escaping the chilly evening, our reps engaged with dozens of delegates from Alberta and neighboring regions during networking sessions. The intimate attendance played host to many insightful exchanges between hundreds of park and recreation professionals. We were able to catch-up with recently onboarded clients, Peoria and Green Valley, before traditional pub games kicked off the remainder of the evening. The mountain lodge bustled with the enjoyment of pool, darts, Jenga, and Yahtzee. Upon nightfall, the Jasper – Dark Sky Festival kicked off with free stargazing, providing the opportunity to see the moon and sparkling stars through powerful telescopes.

ARPA 2016 Draw Prize Winner

If the breath-taking surroundings weren't enough, one lucky delegate was also the winner of our draw prize. Valerie Grau, Assistant Manager of Kinosoo Ridge, Municipal District of Bonnyville no. 87 is the winner of an Apple TV! Congratulations, we hope you enjoy it!

Thank you to Kate Wright, the Conference Organizer, and all at the ARPA for a great conference. Didn't connect with us at the event but want to learn more about PerfectMind?
