5 Holiday Marketing Ideas Your Martial Arts School Should Try

The holidays are around the corner and it’s an excellent time of the year to show off what your martial arts studio is all about. People are in high spirits and, more importantly, they are more willing to spend and are potentially looking to gift memberships or classes. Here are five holiday marketing ideas your martial arts studio should try, to end your year with a bang.

1. Send Holiday Cards

Beyond using this as a marketing tactic, it’s always a good practice to send holiday cards to your students. Not only does it demonstrate that you have established personal relationships with your students, but these cards can act as free advertising. Many people like to display their holiday cards, whether it’s at home or at the office. They may just grab the attention of a prospective student.

2. Host a Holiday Party

Holiday parties aren’t only fun, but they can be great ways to attract new students. Send out invites to welcome your existing students, while extending that invitation to their friends and family. While promoting your school shouldn’t be the focus, you can set up a table at the party that features some marketing material, in case a partygoer is interested. They should outline the benefits of martial arts and the classes that your martial arts studio has to offer.

3. Hold a Holiday Contest on Social Media

Social media is always a great place to get people talking. Holding a contest on Facebook, Snapchat, or Instagram can involve a number of potential students and engage the ones that already use your studio. One of the benefits of holding contests on social media is that people are likely to share your post. If your contest requires people to tag their friends, more people will become familiar with your martial arts studio. One of the prizes may include a complimentary private self-defense class for a group.

4. Offer a Holiday Deal

Everyone loves a good deal! Particularly around the holidays, when people are more likely to spend both on themselves and on others, it’s the perfect time to offer discounted classes. To make things more interesting for your existing students, you could also offer discounted classes for every student who brings in one of their family members or friends to a class.

5. Support a Local Charity

The spirit of giving is upon us and it’s the perfect opportunity to give back to the community. From local food banks to collecting warm clothing for shelters, there are many ways for you and your martial arts studio to get involved. Giving back to the community should be the main focus here, but the added bonus is getting your studio out there and increasing brand awareness.
