We recently had the pleasure of attending the NRPA (National Recreation and Park Association) 2017 Conference, which has positively become an annual tradition for PerfectMind. Widely regarded as one of the must-attend parks and recreation conferences, this year’s event did not disappoint.
The charismatic city of New Orleans, Louisiana played host to the conference and our two account executives, Robby Jones and Mark Convey, happily soaked up the sights and sounds of The Big Easy. In addition to the panoramic view of the Mississippi River from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, delegates were treated to a stroll through the French Quarter, the historic St. Charles streetcar line, and the elegant Garden District.
Over three days, the conference provided over 7,000 delegates with hundreds of educational sessions through eleven conference tracks specifically tailored to parks and recreation. From crowdsourcing to conservation and volunteer management, there were many ideas for passionate parks and recreation professionals to take away from the event. The NRPA also hosted an exciting kick-off party on day one, which allowed attendees to let loose and connect with their peers.
Robby and Mark had a great time speaking with over 200 delegates, who had travelled from across the United States to attend. They shared PerfectMind’s newly released features and took the opportunity to learn more about the needs of program coordinators, front-desk staff, recreation directors, and other industry professionals. It was the ideal setting to make new connections and catch up with our valued clients from Georgetown, Texas and Derby, Kansas.
Congratulations to Crystal Ross, Assistant Director of the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department, who is the lucky winner of an Apple TV. And thank you to all attendees, exhibitors, and organizers who helped make this conference unforgettable. We’re very excited to see you all next year in Indianapolis, Indiana!
